Sherwood Participates at ACMA 2007 show in Tampa, FL
The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) has provided a forum for the composites industry to develop and enhance shared opportunities and address common challenges. This forum is their annual trade show which was held this year in beautiful Tampa, Florida during the week of October 15th. The ACMA trade show exposition offers face time with over 250 of the industry's pioneers offering the leading edge materials, equipment, supplies and manufacturing processes to take business operations to the next level.
"One of the best ways for Sherwood to guarantee success is to stay on top of the newest resources available from industry suppliers" remarked Sherwood's Director of R&D Dr. Brent Larson. "The ability to meet with the leading suppliers of composite resources in one place was very beneficial for our developments. This allows for a stronger relationship between ourselves and the suppliers which in turn allows us to provide enhanced solutions to our customer's needs."
Sherwood participated in this year's annual trade show exposition by hosting a booth to highlight their capabilities in composites manufacturing and development. This allowed a greater interaction to the people and organizations within the composites manufacturing industry. Sherwood President Greg Brookes was pleased to be able to participate in this year's show "This conference provided some tools and education needed to realize new opportunities for success".
The 3-day trade show also offered composite manufacturers a variety of quality educational sessions lead by industry experts. Larson attended several of these sessions which included discussions on electrically conductive fibers, flammability additives, and material configuration compositions and the role they play in flammability. Other sessions were also held on a wide array of composite topics as well as demonstrations of actual concepts presented at the educational sessions.
One of the most valuable aspects of the show was the networking opportunities that were abundant during the week of the trade show. "The composites industry is very diverse and the ACMA annual trade show welcomes all market sectors, so the chance to learn from peers and expand our capabilities is exceptional", said Project Developer Donald Matthews.
